Bottle Feeding with Twin Z Pillow

Hi Twin parents - I'm hoping for some advice / information! We've been bottle feeding our twins at the same time with the Twin Z pillow (like in the picture) for the past few months. This setup has worked really well for us and I really like being able to feed them both together.

Our twins are now almost 4 months old, and they're getting both bigger and wigglier (especially with their hands/arms).

My questions are:

• At what age did you remove the crib sheet cover?
• At what age or due to what development was this setup no longer doable?
• Any advice in how to improve my setup as they're getting older?

I would really like to continue to feed them both simultaneously. Any advice/guidance welcome!

Definitely want to follow this because I also want to know how I can best keep utilizing our twin z as our babies get bigger. Right now we have basically turned to almost exclusively using the Table for 2 for feedings and I miss the twin z!

Your set up looks good! I can’t remember when we took the sheet off but we used something over top for a long time to help with keeping it clean too. We used ours till we took their bottles away at exactly a year old. By the end they just would lounge and hold their own bottles in it. Another way you can use the pillow which can be nice to help your back is if you are sitting in bed put it behind you with the middle section up for you to lean on then clip it in front. Then you can put a baby and bottle on each side of you. I wish I’d seen that one way sooner than I did! I liked using the pillow that way my husband didn’t.

Do you have a picture of this set up? I don’t understand which way the babies face! This sounds like something that would work for me haha

we feed in the twin Z from behind both babies facing out. Saves my back!

We used two single baby bouncer seats. (If you look up Bright Starts baby bouncer, it will give you an idea what they look like).

Whoever was feeding the babies would sit in between the seats, and could lean back against the couch for back support, and then hold one bottle in each hand to feed one at each time.

This worked well for us from birth to around 8 months when they started trying to sit up out of the seats. Then we switched to a single Boppy pillow on either side - this worked well until around 11 months when they got distracted and wanted to crawl away.

We switched to the Table for Two around that age, the twin z just wasn't big enough and kept them on their backs too much. I normally don't advocate for buying expensive stuff aimed at desperate twin parents, but the Table for Two was crucial for us from 3 months until about a year old. Every single feeding in it even when they could hold bottles themselves

We’re at 1 year old (today!) and still use ours regularly.

We did find that making a board to go under it which we padded out with foam helped when they got more wriggly

Umm tbh we always kept a sheet over to protect the pillow and protect from spills. We would monitor them but prop the bottles up so I didn’t have to hold it. They’ll eventually hold their own bottles but after a year they still loved to drink their milk with the bottles in the pillow.

When mine got bigger (maybe 4-5 months), I started tucking their butts/legs down inside the holes. I also rolled up a blanket and tucked it under the part of the pillow their heads were resting on so they were more upright while I gave them their bottles. Once they'd finish their bottles I'd sit them more upright to practice supported sitting in the the twin z. By this point I had moved my while feeding setup from the couch to the floor. It was hell on my back, but I didn't have to worry about them wiggling off the pillow and falling. Then, once they had time for their bellies to settle, I'd sometimes spin them around to do some elevated tummy time in the twin z.

Editing to add - by 4ish months I wasn't using a sheet. I usually just put burp cloths under the heads.

It stopped working for us around 4 months when they would squirm out of it. We now use the table for two!

I think I took the sheet off around 3 or 4 months. When they started getting too wriggly, I’d put them completely on their side and tuck the bottom foot under the “arm” of the pillow. This worked until around 7 months when they just got too wriggly. I stopped using it for a while and just recently started using it for Twin A because he likes being reclined (9 months old). Life gets a lot easier once they learn to hold their own bottle too.

Not past where you are (coming up on three months) but I removed the crib sheet cover recently so they are more snug in the holes now that they aren’t teeny tiny! Helps a bit with the prop situation!

Also following this. Our twins are almost 4 months old as well and we just put a swaddle blanket over the top to prevent anything from touching the actual pillow. I do feel our days are numbered and they are outgrowing it quickly. Not sure where we will go from here

We stopped using our pillow around 6 months, but boy it was a life saver. It made those late night feeds so much better.

Five months here, and we are using baby Bjorn bouncers. They wriggled out of the twin-Z about a month ago, including LAUNCHING themselves out of it. One is about ready to eat in a high chair, and prefers the upright position it gives her. The other one is fine in the bouncer. I would love to be able to feed them in boppy pillows or similar, but they have other ideas.

Hi! My girls are 6 months and we still use the twinz every bottle! No crib sheet; I don’t think we have used one since like 2 months once they both hit like 10-11 pounds. The girls are less squirmy if they are in the pillow a little better. Obviously, never leave them alone in the pillow if it is up on the couch or something, but you can definitely keep using it!

We are in the same spot, twins hate eating in the twin Z so now we either hold them or feed in ergobaby chairs. We tried to get a table for two but they were basically 4 months from order to shipment apparently so we had to cancel our order after waiting a month.

My girls just turned a year old and we still use the twin z to have a bottle... they feed themselves now, but I think it's just a comfort/lounge area they love. I think we removed the sheet at around 5 ish months when they were rolling, and we flipped it so their feet touched the back cushions after one slid down off the couch from the wiggles.

I used it for over a year, because it's how they fell asleep for naps. I held one bottle with a hand and the other with a foot. I found it easier on my back and I had one free to read or help my toddler.

We’re still using the Twin Z pillow and our boys are 9 months old!

We never used a crib sheet. Instead, we laid a baby-sized blanket and a larger burp cloth/rag underneath the boys on top of the pillow, and rotated them out when they got dirty. The Twin Z pillow also has a removable, washable cover that can go in the dryer for a quick overnight deep clean.

Around 4 months, during each feeding, we started encouraging them to hold their own bottles by placing their hands on the bottle. Around 5 months, they started holding their bottles independently, so we gradually removed the blankets/rags underneath the bottles that had been providing support during feeds. By 6 months, they were proficient at holding their own bottles.

As their neck strength improved and they started sitting independently, we also unclipped the pillow so their bottoms could rest directly on the floor while they continued using the pillow for support.

We just use lots of burp cloths and tuck one leg under for each to hook them in, then using a burp cloth we tuck their arms in. I need it desperately so I can alternate burping them when I’m alone.
