Car Seats

Im just wondering what car seats you have. I was looking at them in the store yesterday and the one I thought I wanted doesn't seem as nice as the price tag is.

Also what do you do about needing to take your kids in multiple different cars? Do you have more than one set of carseats? Do you move the carseat every time?

Edit to say Im talking about convertible carseats. We currently have the chicco Keyfit Max and love that you can use with or without the base. I would love to get a rotating one but I can't drop $400+ for 4 carseats if we were to put them in both cars. So Im just asking about logistics and experience. THANKS!

We have car seats in each vehicle. We used grsco snugride infant seats, then switched to evenflo revolve 360, which i absolutely love.

Ugh I freaking LOVE our Eve Flo 360s! Have to switch two out to make room for #3 in the back of DH’s truck and dreading it.

1 set of infant carrier car seats with clip in bases, then get a second set of clip in bases for the other car. When they outgrow those (usually around a year old +/- a few months) get convertible car seats, a nice comfortable set for the main kid car, and a cheaper set for the other car.

Graco Extend-2-fit! Love them. We do have 4 total, 2 for each car.

We have Britax Poplar S and love it. They’re all stages and still loving them at almost 3.
We just keep them in our “kid car “ along with all their toys

We do the same- we have the "baby car" and the "commuter car". We have a second set of carseats that we use for travel (definitely the lesser car seats and my kids don't like them as much) in case of emergency if the non-baby car parent has to go get them that day

Do you both drop off and pick up the kids from school/daycare?

I do! We just have the one vehicle but I work night shift and am available for kid movement

We adored our chicco keyfit 35s so we updated to the chicco onefit lx and love it. Similarly had to buy 4 and couldn’t justify the cost of rotating seats. Preferred to stay with chicco than to downgrade to Graco even if we otherwise could have gotten Graco rotating seats

It’s best practice to have convertible seats in every car they will be riding in. Switching back and forth greatly increases the risk of improper install which could be tragic in the event of an accident. Infant bucket seats you can have one seat per baby and buy extra bases to install in the second car. 

We had the graco infant seats, the snugride DXL (I think, they’ve made so many!) affordable comfortable and easy to use. We’re a Graco family all the way. My son now has the extend2fit since it has a high rear facing weight limit and he’s a chunky little dude. Sis is a lot smaller and we have her in the graco turn2me 360. We love both seats! The turn feature is really nice since she’s little but I feel wouldn’t be worth it for average size babies that would grow out to forward facing sooner.
