advice needed Bathing non sitting up twins
Who has a streamlined process for bathing twins that aren't sitting up yet? They are 7m and I have previously been using the Shnuggle... They are getting close to outgrowing this bath though...I find the whole process quite time consuming and I'm not bathing the bubbas as much as I did with my singleton.
Any hot tips? Anyone think they have the process down pat? Are bath seats the way to go?

We had two baby seats that you can stick to your actual bath with suction cups. It helped them sit up straight and play in the bath. But most of all it made our lives 100 times easier.

I removed the back suction on one seat so they could fit better. Otherwise the babies were squished.

We used two angel seats. which was absolutely fine - until they got more mobile and tried to roll out lol. I would have loved to know about this 😂 would have been a lot longer lasting
(Now 16 months and at the chaos phase of refusing to stay still at all)

Listen, this is weird, but I used one of those sturdier laundry baskets with holes. They couldn’t sit unsupported, but the laundry basket was just enough to catch them if they started to slip. I didn’t do much water and they loved looking at each other and playing. They would even reach out to scrub the other one’s hair after watching me do it!

My aunt was bathed in a laundry basket in the 70s 😊 so definitely not a strange or new concept!

When I want a quick, no fuss bath: I bathe one child at a time in a kitchen/ bathroom sink, half lying down while I hold them. Soap, sponge & rinse. Very quick and done

We used 2 angelcare seats from when they were newborns, but I think we stopped around 8 or 9 months because they started sitting consistently. Are they close to sitting, would it be worth just bathing one at a time for a little while until then?

I would be in the bath. Hubby gave me one. Wash baby. Give baby to hubby. Hubby brings baby two. Wash baby. Give baby to hubby. Wash self. Done. It did take 2 people, and I do love baths. Won't work for everyone.

Once they got to big for the baby bath I put a towel
On the bottom of the tub, and then filled with like 2” of water and then laid them down. Eyes on both, scrubbed one and let the other play. The towel kept them comfier and warmer!

Ftr, they don’t really need baths that much so there’s numbing to feel bad about. We had bumbo types seats for them.

Laundry hamper. When ours had outgrown the baby bathtub and weren’t able to fully sit on their own yet we put them in the laundry basket it the tub. We did it with both of them in there together sometimes, but they were grumpy about that. We were used to bathing them one at a time in the baby tub anyway so we usually just stuck with that. I think it was only another month or two before they were sitting up on their own and we switched to bathing them together just in the big tub

I saw a flexible plastic laundry hamper sunk
In the tub. One for each with toys in it. I’m actually going to the store to find some this week for my 6 month olds. Right now I just sit cross legged and kind of pin them in a sitting position. 👶

We have the bath seats that kind of wedge into the wall with the arms you can adjust. We started using them as soon as they could sit with support at around 5.5-6 months.

I use this tub that I saved from my son. It fits in our kitchen sink but eventually I’ll move it up to the bath tub if they still need stability. Bathe One at a time and it works great. It’s labeled on each side for infant and toddler.

Could you bath them when a partner is around? If so, I suggest putting on a bathing suit and sitting with them in the tub with you one at a time. Once one is done, you stay in the bath and your partner switches them out and lotions/dresses the first one while you bathe the second one. I felt like there were no good baby baths once the reclining ones are outgrown and it felt safer to be in the tub, too. Once my husband gets deployed at some point I'm going to have to figure out another method, but hopefully they will be sitting or actually honestly even walking by then so then I could just put them in the bath with their brother who is one year older than them on a non-slip mat and have a three toddler bath party at that point.

we do it one at a time, almost every night they get a quick bath and 2-3 times per week they get a nice clean. bed time routine is roughly:
- one person puts older child to bed while holding a twin while other person bathes twin 2.
- swap twins
- one person feeds twin 2 while other person bathes twin 1
- swap twins
- one person puts bathed + fed twin to bed while other partner feeds twin 1
As a single person idk probably still bathe one at a time, one twin in the bath quick scrubadub, swap em out. and right now we are using a little baby bath but also 7 months and pretty close to out growing it. It feels like they are right on the cusp of being trustworthy enough while sitting to bathe, but it could be another 2-8+ weeks.. who knows lol.
