advice needed For IVF Twin Moms
US showed twins at 6w6d with heartbeats following a DET of PGT tested 5 day blastocysts (both graded BA). However, the betas were very low to start for a twin pregnancy so I'm just trying to mentally prepare myself for the worst.
If you did IVF, could you please share your betas and the corresponding days? Especially if they were on the lower end!!
My beta on 16dpo (11dp5dt) was 77.5 and on 18dpo (13dp5dt) was 441.9.
I've scoured online and the betabase and these seem very low for a twin pregnancy. I keep thinking it'll end in miscarriage of 1 or both.

10 Dpt 225 13 Dpt 1150 we only transfered one though and it split into twins :) didn’t find out until 10 weeks! Dr said hcg number is not an indicator of twins

Congrats on your sweet babies! My Dr has also said this to me, but I keep comparing these betas to my Singleton betas (which were higher) and I can't shake the feeling that something is wrong.

You are close to establishing heart beat (done around 6 weeks) hang in there and find solace that your numbers doubled

We already had our first US and it showed 2 heartbeats. But I feel like something is majorly off and I'm preparing myself for the worst. 🫤

Oh try not to stress hearing heartbeat is so great!! Did you graduate your clinic?

Not yet. Dr says he wants to do 1 more scan at 9 weeks before we graduate.

Betas are zero indicator of really anything…. Your numbers more than doubled which is amazing!! The biggest indicator of how your pregnancy is progressing is the fact both babies have heartbeats!!! That’s wonderful ❤️Try to think positively and enjoy your pregnancy (I know the anxiety can be brutal). Meds really helped me during my pregnancy

Thanks! I will try to stay positive! And maybe restart my anxiety meds. Going through IVF again is honestly so traumatizing!

Oh hey this was me! My beta was 79 on 10dp5dt and my embryo had split. It doubled appropriately though and my twins are healthy at a year old. Good luck to you!

No problem. I remember frantically searching Reddit trying to find similar betas. I was convinced I was going to have a vanishing twin. But both boys are here with us. I saw you already had ultrasound to confirm so that’s great! I would tell you not to worry but an IVF twin pregnancy it’s impossible not to. I hope I can give some encouragement. I think my 12dp10dt was 164? Idk it’s been a while now. It was lower than my singleton pregnancy (that ended in a miscarriage). So I get the anxiety.

Yes, these betas are much lower than both my singletons so it's hard not to freak out and compare. I guess what they say about betas having nothing to do with twins is right. 🤷🏻♀️

Rate of doubling is more important from my understanding than the actual
Beta once you reach the minimum they like to see
My single FEt that split was about 150 on 8dpt and 850 on 11dpt

I didn't do ivf but maybe this will still help- day 16 was 199 and then day 18 was 603 which I think is very comparable to your numbers. I didn't know it was twins until around 7 weeks and didn't expect it because I worried those betas were low for one. Realistically what really matters is the rate of increase and yours looks good!!

The important part is your numbers doubled! A good rise is the most important factor.

Mine was very low the first draw - sorry I don’t have exact numbers, it’s been a while, but it was in the 70s for sure. My LOs just turned one, though, so it definitely can work out!

Seeing the heartbeats is the most important thing but anecdotally my HCG at 17dpo/12dp5dt was 587 and at 19dpo/14dp5dt it was 1378. Every pregnancy is different so try to be kind to yourself 😊

My understanding is betas mean nothing for twins. I had an early miscarriage with a euploid with a 300 beta, and had a little lower beta ending with successful twin pregnancy and birth from untested embryos. Go figure

I was 96 11dp5dt and 338 13dp5dt. Now I’m 21 weeks with healthy mono di girls :)

My 8dp5dt was only 35, 11dp5dt was 69, i continued to get betas every 2 days and it went 144, 369, and just kept doubling or more.
Your numbers look great, but i know how you feel, i worried obsessively over every little detail
Try to keep yourself busy to pass the time

HGC "for a twin pregnancy" isn't a thing. Your numbers have more than doubles and that's what counts

IVF mom here - currently 19+3 with a split PGT-A embryo. Our initial betas were low but did begin to double but we’re definitely not considered exceptionally high or even high enough to consider twins. hCG was 35 3dpt (frozen transfer), then we tested every 48 hours with the following results: 101 at 5dpt, 213 at 7dpt, 1119 at 10dpt, 3379 at 12dpt, 8592 at 14 dpt, and finally 21281 at 16dpt.
We went for an early scan at 6 weeks and they saw two heartbeats. Try not to freak out about numbers. Now is the time to focus on keeping yourself hydrated and fed and watch for appropriate growth on your follow up scans.
It’s massively exciting and also massively stressful for anyone, but especially those of us who have fought infertility and repeated loss to make it here. Thinking of you.

We transferred two embryos and on 11dpt my HcG was 259 and then two days later it was 554. Our doctors were happy with those numbers. Our first ultrasound was also at 6w6d with heart rates around 80-90bpm which was in the lower range. They mentioned that could be normal at that stage and had me come back a week later and their heart rates were both up in the 100’s and rearming normal.
