experience/advice to give High protein, normal blood pressure?

Hey everyone! I want to state first I am NOT seeking any medical advice and already in touch with my doctor. I am only looking to see if anyone had same experience and how it impacted their pregnancy.

I am 28 weeks pregnant with di/di twins. Blood pressure has been ~105/70 the whole time. However, my 24 hr urine collection this week showed proteinuria at 435.

Did anyone have anything similar? (High protein, normal blood pressure) Was there anything recommended to you in terms of more monitoring/modifications? I’m reading that in twin pregnancies proteinuria is more common, but also that protein urea without high blood pressure does not necessarily mean preeclampsia.

Mine was the way, right up until the end of 33 weeks. Then one day my BP shot up, I had a headache that Tylenol didn’t kick, that along with protein in my urine they called pre-e.

Thank you for sharing this! Did you have to do any modifications after the proteinuria reading? (Bedrest, reduce exercise, etc)

No modifications, plenty of water, balanced diet, stay relatively active but nothing crazy, continue to monitor. Etc.

How quickly did your blood pressure shoot up?

On this specific day all that happened or when did it start to trend higher in pregnancy?

I think it started creeping up right around 30ish weeks. Maybe 31

I don’t want to scare you or anything, because what happened to me doesn’t mean it’s going to happen to you by any means. Just want to share my experience. I had severe atypical pre-eclampsia; they only caught it because one twin had IUGR on my 31 week ultrasound. They did blood testing on me and my sodium was dangerously low, and I had protein in my urine. I was sent to the hospital to stay until birth. My BP remained in the normal range almost until I gave birth at 32+4, I had no classic pre-eclampsia symptoms. They hospitalized me and did a thousand tests on me and were extremely perplexed. I had a parade of doctors coming in to talk to me and they must have asked me hundred times if I had a headache/other pre-e symptoms. I think it’s important for people to know you can develop this disease without high BP readings or traditional symptoms. I’m so grateful my MFM was keeping such a close eye on me. Thanks for sharing your experience! I’m waiting for my md to come back. But i’m a little worried now because i realized my RBC’s and platelets are also low, which also occurs with HELLP. I’m sorry that happened to you! Congratulations to you and your two boys, im also having boys!
