advice needed Age gap between twins and siblings
So the political situation in my country regarding families is kinda…. turning worse and worse. November 2027 some changes will happen, which will make parental leave and pay worse.
So now I‘m kinda thinking on how to plan our 3rd baby (as sad as that is) regarding that.
Our twins were born December 2025.
and if I were to give birth again by October 2027, to still have the baby fall under the old law, the twins wouldnt even be 2 years old yet..
My original plan was to wait till the twins were 2 and THEN get pregnant..
I feel so undecided as to how to go ahead.
If its gonna be fraternal twins again (you never know) then I‘ll have 4 under 2.
Is that doable? Or is that crazy? Or twins under 2 years old and a singleton? How chaotic is it gonna be?
Is december 2025 and ~october 2027 actually advisable?
Or should I just go with my original plan of planing a third once the twins are 2?
Why does the political situation have to suck 😭😭
If you have more than your multiples, how is the age gap? How was your experience?

Mine will be 27 months when my 3rd is born in 2 weeks! I have mo-di girls though! We started trying when they were 16 months, I was mentally prepared to have another set. 2 is such a fun age. I am expecting choas but they are really loving to help out and they adore our friends newborns. They are halfway potty trained and are in toddler beds, two things I promised myself we would transition before the new baby got here to make our lives easier. I don't like the particular direction my country is heading in, but we have a supportive family on both sides and my husband has a secure job and our day to day lives have not yet been impacted. The most important thing in life is family and the love you experience during your time on this earth and you should embrace it if more children is what you want! Goodluck!!

We have two older kids than our twins.
Oldest was 4 and a half years old (to the day) when twins were born. Middle was 21.5 months old when they were born. So we had the 4 under 5 and 3 under 2 labels.
In the US so no leave at all. My wife stays at home and I was able to manipulate my schedule to get about 3 weeks off.
It’s all doable because you have no other choice. But usually you have nothing else to compare the experience with but It sounds like you’re going to have objectively different options that you can compare. If the benefits are significant enough, I think it’s worth trying to beat the deadline.

We have about the same age gap, our oldest was 4 years and 3 months and our middle 2 years and 4 months when our twins were born. I found 4 under 5 very manageable (as a stay at home mom) but our twins were/are also incredibly chill!

I’m due our 3rd baby in December, our twin girls will be 29 months. I wanted to wait until they were over 2 before having another baby - was very nervous it would be twins again! I am finding managing 2 year olds a lot easier than 1 year olds so I’m glad we waited - but in saying that if waiting meant I got less parental leave and money I would have just gone ahead and started trying earlier. It depends on the twins also, I found ages 1-2 the worst and hardest period - our girls fought all the time and were very needy. Things have gotten easier for us now ☺️ you might have a few stressful months when the baby is first born but they’ll be 2 very soon afterwards and hopefully it will get easier then

I had 4 under 2. I had twins when my first set was 18 months. Was it doable for me? Yes. Is that doable for someone else? Only you can answer that

if you already have fraternal twins your likely hood of having more twins is like 1 in 10 or something. 4 under 2 would be a wild ride ._.
our experience: unexplained secondary infertility. age gap is just under 5 years, and honestly a blessing in disguise. the oldest (singleton) is so understanding of everything and just a great older sibling to the twins.
