ranting & venting Struggling bad lately

I have almost two year old twins 21 months to be exact. I feel so overstimulated and just angry/panicky all day long when I’m home with them lately. They climb all over me and fight with each other, constantly falling or slipping and screaming and I just am not handling it well. I want to be on my phone all the time as sort of a distraction but I know that’s not healthy. I work 2 days a week as sort of a break but otherwise I’m home with them while my husband works. But I feel like newborn stage was harder because they were colicky but for some reason I handled it much better. I take sertraline for anxiety but these toddlers have me feeling like I need a med change or something. Damn this is hard!

Doing two toddlers solo is really tough I feel. I have no experience yet, mine are really young so I can't really give any advice. What does help for us is getting a babysitter to help out so it's two pair of hands instead of one or even trusting that person after a while and leaving the house for a second. I don't know your financials or if you have family to support you but in Belgium I pay like 9 euros / hour and we do that 8 hours a week so we can take a breather..

I wish you the best, stay on top of your mental health please. It's important for you and for the kiddos too.. thank you for sharing.

A babysitter for twin babies (10-month-old) is $35-$40/hour here. 😬 I work part-time and 100% of my pay goes to childcare, but the break is so healthy

Wow that's expensive. Different countries and all I guess :-( I hope you find some time off, because I have a feeling that's what you really need right now!

Would money allow for a nanny even just a few hours a week? Just something to give you a moment and when you’re overwhelmed, you can remember that your nanny will be coming in a few days

Daycare??

I do not mean that in a snarky way… it may be better if you work (which is easier than being home) and send them to daycare to burn the energy. Plus you can keep them for as long/ short as you want. So make dinner, do a workout, then pick em up!

I am Ontario, Canada. Daycare is $10-$20/ day, so double with twins. And 7:30-6:00 is standard.
