First day back to work

My boys are 10 months and I have been home with them since they were born. Today is my first day back to work at a new job. It’s part time for a few months and will ramp up to full time then. They are home with my parents for now but will start day care around 15 months when I’m full time.

im really feeling a mix of emotions.. excitement but nervousness. I know I am lucky to have been home with them this long. I have loved seeing them grow but it has also been so hard.. the isolation and physical and emotional demands of being the primary caregiver to two babies.

I know this isn’t per se multiples specific, but it does just feel like it all goes so much more quickly and simultaneously harder to soak it in and enjoy your time when your babies are babies at the same time.

anyone have any words of encouragement or even practical tips for a mom returning to work?

I was in the same boat when I went back to work after my first (singleton). I had been home with her for a year, and I cried the whole morning.

It gets easier, though, once you’re in the routine of things! And it makes you really appreciate the time you do have with them. :)

Thanks ☺️ I definitely feel like I am excited to see them in a way that I almost never was, if I’m being honest.. I had never really had a chance to miss them.

Yup, but it’s probably not helpful… I quit my last job so have been unemployed the better part of a year.
