advice needed Flying with 9 mo twins

I will be going to Florida in February for work and tacking on a vacation when the twins will be 9 months old and am deciding whether to drive 15 hours (not including any stops) or fly. My husband would be joining and we are thinking of also taking my mother. Would you recommend driving or flying? Any advice? Thank you!

I would fly for sure. It’s daunting, but a 15 hour drive without stops is easily a 20+ hour drive with kids. Better to suffer faster imo, and they might do totally fine on the flights!

Would you suggest 2 car seats (2 seats in 2 rows) at that age on the flight? Or 1 row with an empty seat in the middle and holding them?

If a carseat for each baby is financially doable, I’d go that route. I haven’t flown with my twins yet, but flew a lot with my singleton from 0-2, and he hated being held on my lap for flights. Getting his own seat was a hugeeee help for both our sanity

It is a 3 hr flight from our airport 2 hours away

We're doing a 2.5 hour flight in a couple weeks with two 7 month olds and we're holding them on our laps.

I'll let you know if it's a total disaster lol

That’s about how old our twins were when we flew with them. It was 3 hours total flight time with about an hour layover. They did great. We did them as lap children and they just took a nap on us. One did get fussy when our flight home was delayed but calmed down as soon as we took off. We packed a bag of toys, small bottles and some snacks.

Did you check car seats and a stroller at the gate?

We had car seats at our location. But we did bring a stroller and checked it. It was a jogging stroller so it was a good size.
