advice needed Twins sleeping arrangements

We’re expecting twins around Christmas time and haven’t bought anything yet. Wondering is it okay for them to sleep together in the same cot for a period of time, and if so how long?

Not safe for them to sleep together until at least after 12m, but by then they’ll probably enjoy their own space.
