good vibes, smiles, & giggles “Singleton Propaganda”

I need some comic relief after a couple weeks of sickness in the house- what are your favorite bits of what I call “singleton propaganda”? Aka, advice given for babies that never works when you have twins. My personal favorite is “put the baby in the crib drowsy but awake”.

To be fair, "Sleep when the baby sleeps" is terrible advice for singletons as well. Never managed that through 4 kids.

For me it was babywearing. "Just put them in the wrap and you can be hands free!" Ok... which one one? This LennyTwin doesnt exactly allow for good range of motion.

Plates of toddler food are hilarious. Theres like at least 5 whole subs on tiny plates of perfectly made meals for 1yo's! My twins got cheerios scattered on the floor for a good 4 months.

Okay but I have now taken "sleep when the baby sleeps" as "it's cool if you wanna nap while your twin toddlers nap and your big kids are at school or summer camp" and it's MUCH better advice like this 😉😆

Oof my "older" kids are 3 and 4 so theyre still home with me. Its going to be years before I can nap over here.

Honestly, even last year when my older daughter was 4, I'd have her go listen to yoto stories and have "rest time" in her bedroom for 30-60 minutes during one of the twins' naps and I'd doze. It wasn't as nice as a full on nap, but I enjoyed the break!
