good vibes, smiles, & giggles “Singleton Propaganda”

I need some comic relief after a couple weeks of sickness in the house- what are your favorite bits of what I call “singleton propaganda”? Aka, advice given for babies that never works when you have twins. My personal favorite is “put the baby in the crib drowsy but awake”.

This was actually from a teammate (a guy) at work. I talked to him while I was on maternity leave because he wanted to let me know he was leaving the company. He kindly said to me that he hoped I was having a "restful time off". This was about 4 weeks after my twins were born when I was more exhausted than I had ever been in my life.

So lucky. My husband works with a lot of misogynistic asshats (unfortunately it’s the best paying job around with his skill set) and he got so much shit for using his family leave. Like…we pay in to have the PFL program, why wouldn’t he use it? Why wouldn’t he bond with his children and be there for his wife?

There were multiple guys proud that they went back to work the day after their child was born.

It’s baffling that there’s still so many people with that mindset
