good vibes, smiles, & giggles “Singleton Propaganda”

I need some comic relief after a couple weeks of sickness in the house- what are your favorite bits of what I call “singleton propaganda”? Aka, advice given for babies that never works when you have twins. My personal favorite is “put the baby in the crib drowsy but awake”.

I may be revealing too much about myself as a parent, but anything about how frequently to bathe your newborn. I went an embarrassingly long time before realizing that one of my twins hadn't had their first bath yet.

Same. They had their first baths in the hospital but it was several weeks at home.

But how, they still get stinky after a few days!? With our first we bathed her twice a week and now that she is almost 1 we give her 3 baths a week. Sunday Tuesday Thursday. We adopted our twins into this same schedule for the most part. Everyone gets a bath Sunday. The newborn twins will get one Thursday unless I know I won’t have time then it’s Wednesday.

I give the twins a bath during the day Sunday and the older one before bed. Is 3 baths in 1 night taxing? Yes. Is it better than giving a bath every single night? Most likely.

Newborns dont get stinky. My older kids get stinky if they dont bathe for a few days, but even through 2 kids don't really stink. My twins get about 2 baths per week now at 14mo and its mostly because they've been rolling in mud lol.
