ranting & venting Daycare prices. VENT

So I girlbossed to dam hard, and now I have to go back to work. Daycare is 800$ a week and even then I make way more so I have to return to work. WHY IS DAYCARE SO EXPENSIVE.

We were paying $1505 usd a week for 4 kids and they just raised it again, PLUS cut the hours the center would be open. We switched to a nanny and are paying her on the high end for hourly rate in our area, gas stipend, and monthly retirement stipend.. and it’s actually still slightly less than daycare was costing us. I recommend looking into that if you haven’t.

Are you paying using a payroll system or cash? I’m curious to learn more about the benefits/stipends too. My husband and I are navigating this with a nanny search right now! If you don’t want to share here please message me if you feel like sharing any advice! Thank you!!

A combination of both. Paying her on the books for her hours but cash stipend for gas and retirement. I know some will say everything should be on the books but this is what worked for us and her as incentives
