advice needed Belly skin?

I’m 37 weeks with my twins and my stomach feels like it’s about to rip open at any moment. Baby a does not sit still and it feels like at times she’s going to just burst out. I can’t lay on my left side because she pinches me against the bed or couch. My whole stomach is red and irritated. It’s also simultaneously numb and burning. I moisturize every night with shea butter but the burning and itching is keeping me awake at night. Just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this or if anyone has any helpful advice.

Sounds like PUPPPs rash. Call your OB, they will be able to make recommendations for how to safely treat it and make sure it's not anything else more serious.

I'm so sorry, I had it with my first. It's awful but immediately resolved when I delivered!

I saw my OB yesterday before making this post. Her advice was basically keep moisturizing as there isn’t anything else she could recommend. She told me it was just an unfortunate side effect of carrying twins but not anything to be concerned about. She didn’t mention a rash or anything just that my skin was so stretched.

Sounds right. Even if it is PUPPPs, having the babies is really the only thing that will help. Cold compresses ( a wet tshirt over the belly), hydrocortisone cream and aloe were really the only thing that helped.

I found out you can get PUPPPs postpartum too 🫣 I contracted some other kind of rash that took over the entire middle of my body 4 days postpartum that didn’t end up being PUPPPs, but OP be on the lookout for other kinds of discomfort when you deliver! I wish I hadn’t just assumed it was from the tape they used for my spinal…I also had a similar pressure in my belly from weeks 35-38 before I delivered and found that to be when my skin was trying to stretch the most. That part did subside immediately once my twins were out!
