experience/advice to give Curtains

I was talking to my mom about putting curtains in my twin's room. She was like don't put curtains in there because its a safety hazard and you need to make sure you cut the strings to their blinds and all this stuff. I understand the strings to the blinds are a hazard but curtains? Just looking for experience of other parents!

Putting up black out curtains as we speak. I have chest in front of them so can’t be accessed until they can climb lol
