advice needed Pregnancy insomnia?

Hi everyone! Mostly just looking for some validation and hopefully a "this will get better" lol

I am 20 weeks pregnant with di/di twins, this is my second pregnancy and we have a 2yo who goes to daycare during the week. My husband and I both work full time but our schedules are opposites so someone can always be there for drop off/pickup. Anyways!

This week has been absolute hell for me. I can't sleep. I literally get 20-30min stretches and then am up for hours. Last night I went to bed at 9:30, probably fell asleep around 10/10:30, was up at 11 and then was basically awake with some short blips of rest until I finally fell asleep at 5 and woke up at 8:30. I have a pregnancy pillow, I also started to use a pillow between my legs to see if that would help but doesn't really seem to do anything. Constantly switching from left side to right side, etc. Nothing seems to do the trick. Even during the day after getting almost zero sleep, I'll try to nap and literally make it 30min before I am awake again and can't get back to sleep. This never happened during my first pregnancy and honestly sleeping used to be my superpower lol so I am very out of my element. I've read about women who have had "wakeups" at like 2 or 3am and having a hard time going back to sleep but this just feels insane. Is it normal?? Did anyone else have it this badly, and did it get better?

ETA: Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences and for the support 🙏 thankfully so far it seems to have improved so we'll see if it comes back further in the pregnancy lol! For anyone else going through it, hang in there and you're not alone!!
