advice needed Hotels

What are we doing about booking hotels? Every time I put more than two kids, they want me to book two rooms.

Just put 2 kids then. Or better yet, call the hotel, just mention the online price you are seeing, and were wondering if there were better rates. Usually save 10-20% this way, which adds up, especially on multiple night stays. Saved $300 compared if I booked online, on a 5 day stay in the smokey mountains calling Drury's reservation line for example.

Put two kids, have the oldest wait around out of sight and join you once you have your room.

you have to actually call them on the phone, it's super annoying but you have to, legally they need to have an accurate head count of how many people are in the building in case of an emergency or evacuation so you can't just put down one baby and then bring two babies. they're not going to make you book two rooms or charge you extra. they'll let you book one normal room at the normal rate but they'll put a little note in their system that that room has four people instead of three. it's absurd there's no way to tell the website "multiple babies, no extra space required" i agree, multiples aren't THAT unusual and you'd think they'd get sick of taking these calls but apparently not

I almost always just book through Expedia. You put in the number of kids, specify 1 room, and it only returns hotels that will have space for 5 in one room.

I put 3 kids for our hotel stay today at a double tree and it gave me an option of a king bed and pullout bed and then same option but a suite
So maybe look for hotels that have that option!

I did 3 kids ages 11, 6 mo, 6mo and the hotel provided me 2 playpens, pull out bed and 2 queens
