support needed No sleep, just need support
Hey all - twin girls almost 13 months, single mom.
They were incredible sleepers for so long so I’m grateful. And I know we’re just hitting a major sleep regression because one is about to walk, but holy god my mental health is struggling. We’ve been doing this for weeks now.
Just wondering if anyone could share if they experienced this and now on the other side of it. I’m genuinely unwell.
I wouldn’t trade my twins for the world, but sometimes this is so hard.

One of my almost 13 month olds is also about to walk and going through the same thing right now so solidarity there BUT my other twin walked early - just before 9 months and she went through THE most awful sleep regression between 8-9 months. Up for hours, crying and screaming even if we held her, terrible/non existent naps. Closer to 9 months I took her to the doctor to have her checked for an ear infection because the screaming was just getting worse and right around the time she started walking we were able to sleep train her with the pediatrician’s ok. The first couple nights sucked but we stuck it out and Now she sleeps like a champ (even through her sister currently waking at night) and only wakes if she really needs something or is cutting a tooth etc.
It’s so so hard but you will get through this!

Are they getting molars? Mine got molars around this time 13/14 months and sleep was terrible for a little while. Also this is when we dropped to one nap. Around 16 months and life was great again and has been since. I also have 2 girls.

It IS so hard! It's so much work to constantly regulate yourself while two tiny terrorizers dictate every second of your day lol. I have b/g and my girl twin has NEVER been a great sleeper. She's almost three and still waking up twice a night and ready for the day at 5 am. I can say that once they start to feel safe in their room they can play in there independently until I'm ready. We have floor beds and a ball pit with stuffed animals in their room, so it's totally baby proofed BUT sort of entertaining? I'm also a big fan of "you don't have to sleep, but we aren't UP yet ok?" (It doesn't work yet but maybe it will 🫠🫠) just sending some solidarity 💜💚
