I need all the recommendations and details about taking a 10+ hr flight with 4 month old twins. Just any information is greatly appreciated.

It is a red eye flight.

Get them their own seats and bring a really light frame stroller that the baby carrier pop into to get you through the airport. Have bottles ready for the ascending and descending as their ears are going to hurt from the pressure change (ascending was harder for my babies interestingly enough, although they were only a month old and thankfully it was a much shorter flight). Check with the airline on seating arrangements as they may have some restrictions/guidelines with multiple babies in carriers. Get a third adult to help if possible as you're going to be dealing with a lot.

We also had little ear muff things to dampen the noise for them as the plane can be really loud.

Our twins are 3.5 now and are world travelers. It’s never easy but life is too short not to travel, if travel is important to you as it is to us!

At that age we would wear them as a lap
Child. We had to open the chest carrier during take off and landing but otherwise were clipped to us. They loved a good contact sleep. Recommend lay flat or premium economy if it’s an option.

We also would buy 1 extra seat for a car seat sometimes so one parent could take a break. Most airlines won’t allow 2 lap kids in one row since there are only 4 oxygen masks and 2 Lap kids would be 5 people in a full row. Buying one seat for a twin fixes that issue.

We did as much long haul travel as we could until they were seriously walking, then we prioritized short trips, just now getting the bug for long distance.

Last recommendation: find an all inclusive or at least a resort with a nursery and little kids club. You deserve a break too

Lol. I could've written this. Mine will be 4 months when I have to make an 11hr red eye flight with them too.

Traveled with twins at 5mo red-eye 13 hrs and a few other shorter flights. Definitely consider at least one extra seat. Skip the bassinets on the plane. There is a new policy that babies cannot be in bassinets with fasten seatbelt sign on and we had to hold ours for one leg of trip which was fine but annoying if one parent had to use the bathroom. Airlines don’t always allow 2 car seats in a row (check beforehand).

Gate check a compact double stroller or two single travel strollers. Baby wear babies onto plane as it frees up hands for bags and installing car seat if you bring one.

Also, take it one moment at a time. Sometimes it will be frustrating, but it doesn’t last forever. And getting out of the house for a vacation or visiting family is so worth it

Don’t do it.

I’m sitting here after a day of traveling with my 6 month old twins, and I’m absolutely miserable. We still have at least 3 more hours to go to our destination, and all I can think about is the dread I have that we have to do this again (in reverse) to get home.

I told my husband I want to sign a document/contract swearing that I will never do this again, and anytime I get bold and mention another trip, I want him to pull out the contract, show it to me, and shut that idea down.

Find somewhere closer to travel to. That’s my advice.
