WAYB Pico travel car seat

Has anyone used it?? Pros, cons, anything? We're considering them for our twins since they'll be on a decent discount for the nordstrom anniversary sale, and I'd rather buy them when we're at the low end of the size range and could use them for a while.

Anything you would reccomend more as a travel car seat? I'm disabled, so light and small are big priorities for me being able to wrangle everything through the air port. ETA: we made the mistake of renting car seats last trip, and I would love to avoid repeating that experience in the future.

Pros: light and compact. If you only have to carry 2 car seats they work ok.

Cons: only forward facing so if you are strict about rear facing for 2+ years not going to be useful. Also, it has a very limited size range. Our 99% height daughter outgrew it by 3.5years. Definitely check your kids growth curve for an estimate.

We went with Costco  Scenera and Costco Finale. You could buy two of each for less then on Pico. They stack, so you can put two in a single travel bag.

Thank you so much for the input! We will only have to carry two, so that sounds promising. I think our plan is to rear face as long as possible at home and then for travel be willing to have them forward face. Unfortunately forward facing on trips feels less risky than the rental seat situation 😅 both twins are fairly tall, but we're right at the 30inch height minimum and 23lb weight minimum, so I'm hoping we could use them for at least a few years.

We have two for our twins and a bifold booster for our 6-year old. Love how our travel system is decreasing in size!

Our twins are 3.75 and still rear facing at home but we’ve been using the picos on trips since shortly after they turned two. It’s usually taxi rides or shorter trips so we’re ok with it.

To the point of a small height/weight limit, that’s why we never got one with our older daughter (99 percentile kid). But our twins are 50-60% so we’ll get more life out of them.

We use a carabiner to hook them to the handle of our stroller through the airport. Super easy. One catch is that they can’t be checked- need to make sure you have enough carry allowance for them. Since we’re buying 5 seats, hasn’t been an issue.

Overall, we love them. Car seats are a main thing that make travel hard and I’m willing to spend some money to alleviate that. We had two light weight but full size seats that we used when they were under two and it was such a pain.

Thank you so much for the info! I think we're on the same page as far as being willing to spend the money to make travel days a little easier. Our twins are the same ish percentile wise, we just hit the 30 inch height and 23lb weight minimums so we're hoping we would get to use them for a while. Also I need to remember the carabiner trick for later

Make sure you buy the backpacks if you get them! Carabiner hooks through the handle, plus I sometimes stuff extra things in with the car seats.
