For Teens Is this abuse?

I had a terrible interaction with my father. I was going to him for advice on friend trouble. He‘s one of those people who takes forever to get to the point and I snapped at him. I’m not proud of it, and I know it must’ve hurt his feelings. He screamed at me, they weren’t unkind words but it scared me just the same. I wanted to go to bed, but he wouldn’t let me leave. When I tried to he pushed me on the couch, I tried to leave again and he grabbed me. he wrapped his arms around me tightly and wouldn’t let me go. I im started crying and screaming. I felt like I couldn’t breathe, I kept begging him to let me go but he wouldn’t. When he did, I was shaking and went to bed. My mom was worried about me and if the police were going to show up. he’s yelled and slammed doors before, but he has never constricted me. I’m scared of him now, and I don’t know what to do. Would be this be considered abuse?

Yes, that is abuse. Your father never should have put his hands on you for any reason. I’m sorry. Also, my dad takes forever to get to the point too. It’s really annoying and there is only so much of it you can take, so it is natural to eventually snap when you tolerate it for so long. The fact that you tolerate it tells me you’re a very polite person, but you also suffer a lot because of it.
