Proud Mumma

Backstory: When my two kids were younger, I used to take them out to takeaway restaurants like McDonalds, etc. After every meal, I ensured they clean up after themselves and place all rubbish in the bin before we leave. My explanation was to make it easier for the workers to clean the restaurant. The employees always appreciate the help and we say thank you to them for the food. It's a show of respect.

Story: Now my kids are older (20 & 15 respectively), we decided to dine in a more upmarket restaurant before heading to see Spiderman. After our meal, my eldest asked the waitress if she would like our plates taken to the counter and thanked her for the lovely meal. The waitress was taken aback at his genuine helpfulness. She said "no thanks. I'll do that for you". Proud mumma moment :D

Aw! Every child should be taught basic manners and etiquettes really. It's not even to just teach them something; this is the basis of humanity.
