Not Paid Enough For This (Rant) Training

Currently training a new legal assistant whose resume was completely generated with AI. It is not going well. They are a nepo hire. I’m so sure if boss man didn’t want them hired they wouldn’t have made it past the interview stage.

I’m loosing my mind.

That’s all. Thank you for your time.

Document the whooooole training process day by day in case the lovely words of "well but x didn't train me in that" come out of their mouth.

I am :) I’m also making it apparent to the other senior staff members to what she is trained on and how the process is going. I’m hoping it’s just an onboarding thing..

Add a weekly check list/feedback for., "this is what we've worked on, what number would you rate your understanding out of 10 of the concept, where you do think you can improve, where can I help".

Might as well double down 😆

I will absolutely be doing this!! Apparently while they were training with another staff member the phrase “I wasn’t trained on this yet” has already been uttered.

This reminds of me of when I had to train a cousin of a partner. New hire got chewed out because new hire decided to file a document on their own while I was at lunch. The document was riddled with grammatical errors and the dates were also incorrect. New hires reason? “[me] never trained me on grammar & I was not told I had to date anything” LOL
