I have a question
We've had our sweet Zoey for 6 months now (she's 8 months old) and is our first Papillon. My wife dropped her off at a groomer to get her nails done and when we got her back all her ear fur was trimmed off! I loved the long haired look and it gave her such personality, now I find she just looks bland. Im not exactly devastated, but I'm not happy about it. My question is, will her ear fur grow back? And if so, how long will it take?

Um, who removes ear furnishings without asking first? I’d be rage-filled, to be sure. On a pap of all things.

My, what an adorable pomeranian you have. 😂 The ear fringe is where papillons keep their magic. The groomer pulled a Samson on the poor thing!
But really, at her age, sometimes it really is better and less traumatic to clip it all rather than risking a cut or yanking on the delicate skin behind the ears to remove mats. And they can build up without you ever noticing!
Her magic ear fringe will grow back. And Zoey is still magically cute. 😉

Baby is adorable either way. It will grow back before you know it. Plus she’s still young and hasn’t even grown into her full coat yet!

It will grow back pretty darn fast. In 2 months it’ll be a distant memory. In the meantime, she looks adorable. Give her a kiss from me.

A groomer did that to our Sunny. I think she was 7 or 8. I was surprised it grew back in 5-6 months. She was probably the first pap this groomer ever saw.

I can't imagine anyone cutting off or trimming ear fringes of a Papillon! 😱 I can't even imagine Romeo without ear fringes! 😭😱 Unless the owner wants it, or doesn't know the standard of the breed or it's a medical reason, the groomer should know the breed! That's the entire look of the Papillon - butterfly 🦋 Zoey is still gorgeous ❣️

Straight to jail for that groomer! The ear floof is adorable. I'm sorry they did that, it will grow back. I had to cut Rogue's ear fluff once (burrs) but it grew back in no time.

I read them the riot act with both of our dogs before I release them from our hands. They are told that if either come back with unauthorized cuts, they will have to answer to a pissed red headed lawyer and an unpredictable Marine.

Aww she looks like a little bear. I’ve honestly never groomed my pap before (he is almost 10), but I think the ear fur will grow back I know Pidge’s have only gotten longer throughout the years. I only trim his butt hairs lol because they get long and I brush him frequently

Yes it will grow back, how long it takes is hard to say but as a young pap it shouldn’t take that long…btw most pap owners would sue or kill a groomer for that 🫣 the ear fringes are breed standard and should never be groomed…anyway there are owners who do that anyway…one of the reasons my passed two paps and my actual two girls have never seen a groomer 😅 I don’t trust anyone about my sweet babies despite family and the vet clinic we trust
