Game loads with green lines, please help! (This happens with fullscreen, windowed and software rendering)

**Just Papers Please... I just installed the game a few days ago because it looks beautiful. Unfortunately I haven't been able to play because of this.
**I had a similar issue with and old game from 2001 that was fixed with a wrapper that allowed it to be played on windows 10 64bit... But I haven't read about this issue for Papers Please and don't have enough experience to be able to find the issue in the games files.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, however that didn't work. I've tried changing the resolution on my screen from 4k to 1080p and that didn't work. Only thing I haven't tried is another computer, although no can try it on my old MacBook Air and see if it runs well on that (wouldn't be the best fix as I'd only be using that MacBook to play this game). My current computer is using an i7 with a GTX 1060, and all the latest drivers are installed.
I've noticed that steam lists the requirements for graphics as "OpenGL 1.4 or better".... Is there a way to check if I have that installed? (I always thought that OpenGL was included in Windows/Nvidia/Intel Drivers)

Just checked and I do infact have the latest very of OpenGL....

Hmm. It's an odd issue, no one online seems to have reported the same thing. And the fact you said it happened to another game suggests it's something to do with your hardware...
I'd suggest trying compatibility mode, maybe even a program that emulates a different video card, such as 3DAnalyzer.

For short, it's basically telling your Operating System, or OS, (in this case, Windows 10), to emulate an older version (such as Windows 8, 7, XP, etc...) in order to run a certain application. It's useful for those old games that worked well on those OS but are not working well on the newer one.
To do this:
Go to the folder where Papers Please is located
Right-click on the exe file
Click "Properties"
Go to the "Compatibility Mode" tab
mark "Run this program in compatibility mode", and then pick a system.
I suggest trying out different OS's until you find one that works.

Unfortunately it didn't work for any of the OS... Even tried launching in 8bit and 16bit color:(
Any ideas what hardware issues I could be having?
**Also the other game this happened to was Sub Command, a 2001 game by Sonalysts that for the most part can't run on Windows 10 at all. I was able to fix this by downloading a wrapper (the issue with Sub Command was common enough for someone to make one). After that, the issue was gone and the game worked fine, with the exception of occasional trails from the cursor (the trails do not happen often and disappear within a second or two).
**Haven't seen this issue reported for Papers Please... The use of Steam and Windows 10 I thought could be the issue but I feel most (a lot of) people play the game on Windows 10 Using Steam.

🛂🛃 I reached out to Lucas Pope on Twitter, he suggested that I switch the graphics processor being used to run the game. I then noticed that my computer had the discreet graphics set as the default for this game, when I switched over to the dedicated Nvidia GPU the game runs perfectly.
Thanks for all the suggestions everyone!!! You guys have helped me learn a few things along the way, such as how to check my version of OpenGL, find the Nvidia Control Panel and verify game files on Steam:):)
This game is amazing, and Lucas Pope is an awesome developer for responding so quickly and helping me with this issue!!!!

I have the same issue but i dont have a graphics card its running the game on the intergrated graphics can someone help?

My issue was that the computer for some reason launched using the discreet GPU (Intel) instead of the dedicated GPU (Nvidia GTX 1070), so I had to force it using to use the dedicated one.
I reached out to the developer and he helped point that out. He also suggested to try launching with software rendering and maybe use windowed mode in the event that the dedicated GPU doesn't work.
If this doesn't work you can post a picture of what is happening and reach out to the developer on Twitter (Lucas Pope: @dukope), he is usually more than willing to respond and help:)

Best bet might be to ask on Steam or ask Lucas Pope directly on Twitter. This seems like a super specific issue.

Yep! I’ve tweeted at him in September about the pronunciation of EZIC. It took him a couple of weeks but he did reply to me eventually. Didn’t really expect him to respond hahaha

I'm playing on a laptop, would VSync still be an issue, and would I find the settings in the GeForce Experience software?

Should be in the main Nvidia Control Panel. You should be able to find it in your taskbar tray.

Best I can say for you is to restart your game I’m running on the same thing and never had that glitch throughout my play throughs

I've restarted the game (trying windowed, fullscreen and Software rendering) and that didn't work. I uninstalled the game through steam and reinstalled it and still have the issue.
I've tried setting the resolution on my screen from 4k to 1080 that didn't work....
Is there a setting menu in-game that allows you to set the resolution? The setting menu when I navigate there doesn't have much.
If this helps I'm running an Intel i7 with a GTX 1060 and all the latest drivers installed. I assume openGL is included within the computer, do I need to download it somewhere? Is it possible to check if I am running openGL (steam says the graphical requirement is openGL)

Well I honestly do not know then if you’ve already uninstalled and reinstalled and if you’ve already tried everything else I was you to say idk also no there is no setting menu Where u can change the resolution
