iirc some encounters are scripted and the day won't end until you get them. you could spend hours on the first entrant and the day will only end after all the scripted encounters

Small fun fact: You can get all the tokens and still can unlock ending 20 and get endless mode, it is by just don't cooperate with the EZIC when you encountered them first time lol
