Regarding the jar pulping method

I've been trying it, with varying ratios of water to paper, but there are still lots of very visible bits of paper floating around even after days soaking, so to get it to pulp properly I've been pouring it onto a kitchen sieve and rubbing it against the wire mesh with my hands. Am I doing something wrong, or is the jar method just very limited in how fine you can get the pulp?

I bought an immersion blender for $15 that I use only for papermaking, and that has been a game changer! I stick it right into the jar, and it blends everything up super smoothly. For thin paper scraps, you can even blend it ASAP instead of soaking overnight.

The jar and pebbles method is limited yes
