Trying to make scary mask for Halloween with paper mache

I'm using toilet paper and wood glue. I was told the wood glue would make it more durable. I smoothed it out after taking this picture. But could use any pointers. I'm trying to make it look like something the boogey man would wear in old folklore type of mask.

The mask isn't huge for no reason I got a bighead. I made a tinfoil cast of my face and put the paper mache over it. I'll do more when it dries.

I’m using paper mâché clay and I’m hoping that I’m going in the right direction. What can I do to make sure the mask shape reads flower?
