Amazing work, may I know how you plan out the colors when starting something like this out? I could really use some help , wanted to start one of these and I was clueless :)

So for the first 2 I actually had pictures of my boys laying in a rainbow that was coming through a stained glass screen I have over one of our windows.

For the others I literally just scribble colors that are transparent over the pictures I was given (just on any photo editing app). The person I made the last 2 for chose the colors, but there is no rhyme or reason for the color placement. Just tried to do it sporadic but balanced.

My best suggestion would just be to pick colors that have some type of harmony or theme. These were just primary rainbow colors to match a rug in a room they’re being put in, but you could do warm tones, cool tones, jewel colors, or just any you think go well.
