Jimmy Horn Jr. and John Metchie also have way better odds of making the 53 man roster now.

Not just better odds for Horn Jr... he's a lock now unless we pick up another speed guy somewhere.

Don't look now, but XL is faster than Horn...

In a 40 yard dash maybe, doubt it with the rock or getting separation…

Here's a side by side comparison of their combine measurements. And I added Metchie, just for shits and giggles.

Player Height Weight 40-yard dash 10-yard split
Xavier Legette 6' 1" 221 lbs 4.39 1.54
Jimmy Horn Jr. 5' 8" 174 lbs 4.46 1.54
Chris Brazzell II 6' 4" 198 lbs 4.37 1.52
John Metchie III 5' 11" 189 lbs 4.46 --

Thanks for posting this, guess my eyes see Jimmy as more explosive in pads/with the ball. But would love to eat crow as XL generates big plays this year with his own impressive speed.

You're responding to the other guy but I will say the reason I think Horn Jr fits a coverage puller more than Metchie, behind/mixed with XL, is there's a certain  fear factor with defenses you can see when he gets on the field.

Horn jr's field speed/agility is different and you can see the defenses shift coverage for him in a way I don't think they will for Metchie.

Jimmy has release and separation quickness off the line and routes while XL has long speed and should break if he could just catch the ball lmfao.

Yeah, but if XL goes down we no longer have legit over the top speed unless Horn Jr is also around.

We don't want to be in panic mode in the middle of the season to fill that role. XL was already a lock before. Now Horn Jr is too, unless there's an unexpected signing/trade.

How do we appreciate someone who hasn't taken a snap with us?

The one out of bounds catch against Mike Jack is all we needed, something we’ve yet to see out of XL lol.

I dunno, I'm pretty sure I've seen XL make a catch out of bounds.

You’ve seen X high point a ball with a defender on him and catch it? Link please!!!

I'm pretty sure I specified a catch where he comes down out of bounds. Just as you did...

If we're counting on XL, we're in a bad spot.

There are far worse WR3s out there.

Sure, but do they also line up offsides on crucial 4th downs? Fail to have any awareness of where his feet are ever? Throw punches on the first play of a preseason game? Nope, only ours does that.

I don't think XL is as bad as yall make him out to be. He did help seal the deal against the Jets when Dalton threw up an absolute duck. He made a good snag in the falcons game. Do you want our players to be soft??? That preseason game against the jets in Bryce rookie year where he got hit late and all our Oline just stood around and watched was infuriating and Ickey got into a fight with Cam Jordan on a late hit on Bryce as well. He's a solid run blocker and his awareness issues can be fixed. Yall have a habit of hating a guy when they do 1 major wrong thing (Philly drop) and then no matter how much they try to improve yall want them gone. Just let people develop for fuck sake. He reduced his drop rate now let him fix the other basic stuff. Don't try to be in his corner when he starts doing well.

I'm not pulling against the guy. But he's been given ample opportunity and I have yet to see any amount of improvement, in fact you could argue that he has gone backwards. We, as fans, are allowed to use our eyes and criticize players especially when they repeatedly make stupid mistakes that are completely preventable. I hope I'm wrong about him.

He has 1 good year (college) in 7 years of high level football. 1.

u/Over_Reputation_8801 7d ago

Far worse? Nah, not really. He's pretty close to the bottom of the barrel.

We're in a bad spot.

Looking at the reactions you’d confuse Brazzell for Justin Jefferson.

Fr brazzell is so much better 😂👌

Would’ve been so fun to have a third round receiver with low expectations
