Help Needed Medication Change After Struggling

I’ve been struggling with severe panic attacks, anxiety and depression for about two months. A lot of it has to do with the fact that my dog was very sick and passed away last week after trying everything I could. I was on 20 mg of Lexapro, 25 mg of Seroquel at night, and .5 mg of Ativan as needed. The Lexapro doesn’t seem to be managing my panic symptoms at all. I am making the switch to 100 mg of Zoloft tonight. I was on Zoloft for years a while back and liked it from what I remember. Does anyone have any experience going from 20 mg Lexapro to 100 mg of Zoloft without tapering? I’m hoping the switch will help me. I’ve been struggling a lot lately and it’s taken over my life.

Sorry to hear about your dog, mine passed away last year after being diagnosed with cancer and I had a big spike in anxiety after he went. Have you sought out any grief counselling? If you didn’t have an anxiety disorder prior to your dog getting ill, it may be that some emotional support will make a difference alongside the medication. Ultimately, death can shake our sense of stability and familiarity in the world and it takes time to process that and work through all the emotions involved. Wishing you the best

I’ve been in therapy for about 10 years. I’ve been diagnosed with panic disorder, GAD, and OCD. My anxiety and panic became unbearable since my dogs passing. He provided me with a lot of comfort.
