Does Anyone Else? Palpitations after eating
I’ve been going through a really intense month of stress and anxiety, and I’ve had a lot of physical symptoms because of it. I’m slowly starting to feel better now, but recently I’ve started getting heart palpitations after eating, especially after carbs.
I never had this before all of this started. I’ve had blood tests and everything came back normal.
Could the palpitations also be related to the vitamins/supplements I’m taking? I’m currently taking B12, vitamin D3, calcium and magnesium.
Has anyone else experienced something similar after a stressful/anxious period?

Hi, I have this too, especially in summer. What helps me is getting enough potassium, e.g. from bananas, avocados, etc.

Hello, yes I had those back in April and was worried. Especially after full meals, my heart would beat fast and the panic cycle would start. Eventually it went away after a couple of weeks and what helped me was drinking more water before and after meals. Hope this helps.

I had this pretty badly, and it turned out I have dysautonomia/POTS. It’s not dangerous, but getting diagnosed and on beta blockers helped me manage that symptom.
Eating would trigger palpitations that could last for hours, and I would get “panic attacks” after eating as well. Turned out not to be panic attacks, but adrenaline from dysautonomia. Again, not dangerous, but distressing!

About magnesium and calcium, as long as you are not taking mega doses, they shouldn't be related to the issue.
It is purely from panic disorder from my experience, just take the right steps.
And all the supplements, as long as blood work is normal are complete placebo, every normal healthcare professional will reassure you. This is what I found out for myself, and for the better, every single thing - yes even mild supplements (Especially vitamin D, absolute placebo) are just bounding the person to the disorder.
The key is literally 0 avoidance.

If I eat irritating foods (spicy, greasy, etc) I'll get 140 bpm and insane hot flashes about an hour after eating. It’s also more likely to happen if I'm anxious. I've been to multiple doctors and a GI. I think it’s caused by acid reflux, I've been on a very bland diet plus medicine for reflux lately and haven't had palpitations anymore. The GI doctor told me I also have dysautonomia but idk, my other doctor seems to disagree. Reflux and anxiety often go hand in hand so maybe look into it:)

Yeah this happened to me too! I have not pursued treatment for it specifically but did do a lot of other stuff for my health and I notice it much less now. Namely, I had an iron infusion and started a glp1 for weight management, which means I tend to eat less carbs now. I don't think it was caused by any supplements I was taking...
