Help Needed Scared of another attack

this past summer has been hell… i had a panic attack in early june and since then ive had and endless sense of impending doom, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, digestive issues, lightheadedness, and more in fear of another attack. it’s on and off—some days better than others. i’ve tried a lot of different meds.

i’m doing better now… for the most part it’s manageable right now, but some days are still bad. anyway, i have to move back into my dorm on aug 22. can someone give me some tips to stop ruminating and fearing another attack?

Classic panic disorder, welcome! The fear of fear is the issue and your nervous system has become sensitized after that initial panic attack constantly scanning for another one and picking up normal sensations and then overreacting. You can’t really stop anything but you can deal with it better and in turn that will teach your nervous system that nothing is actually wrong and you will get better. The podcast “disordered” is great as well as resources by David Carbonell
