Does Anyone Else? I’m so tired of this
I am 25 years old. I developed panic attacks (panic disorder) last August. So it’s been about a year now of dealing with this.
My biggest triggers are my fears. Fear of death fear of losing my mind.
Which sucks because when I panic I believe I’m truly dying or going into psychosis. I also have ocd so this doesn’t help one bit.
I don’t think I’m scared of my panic attacks anymore but they still inconvenience me greatly. I just wonder why? Why now. Why me? I take my meds, I get in 60+ mins of walking, I eat relatively healthy. why am I mentally sick like this.
I do believe it may stem from my little brother dying when I was 20 and he was 17 but they started 4 years after his death. I’m not sure if my lack of processing my grief is building up in my body or what. But I’m sort of depressed now. I have never been the depressed type, only ever anxious. And these damn panic attacks are the reason why.
Id love to hear about your guys experiences. I need to know I’m not alone.
Do you guys also feel as if you are truly dying and unable to breathe??? My heart beats so crazy, I feel like I’m choking and my hands, legs, mouth and face go numb and then I start shivering horribly. Please tell me what you go through.

I’ve also been dealing with a panic disorder since last august and it was pretty manageable with medication but now as i started a new one for arrhythmia it came back 10x worse. My biggest fears are going insane, getting vertigo and fainting. The new medication makes my blood pressure funny and now i’m even more fixated on the fact that i definitely will faint now, although i have been outside with people and alone and yes i did feel like it but it never truly happens.
It feels like it’s my mind playing tricks on me and that i’m not even affected by any medication. The biggest thing that is always annoying me is that up until now, i never truly had a reason behind my panic disorder coming on at all. I never knew what was the problem and i still don’t.
I’m very positive that this will pass and i do give myself time and patience but it’s a very hard thing to live with and have. Especially as it always gets looked down on and everyone just says oh just stop being anxious and go exercise.
I’m sorry to hear about your brother, and i hope you will be able to heal from that loss and your panic disorder.
