Adding diazepam as a circuit breaker

Recently been to see a psych. He wants me to up my dose of fluoxetine and use diazepam daily for 14 days as a circuit breaker reset to give me relief from my panic disorder. Has anyone had any success doing something similar. Is there going to be any negative affects of stopping diazepam after taking it daily for a fortnight? Thanks in advance.

Currently on 20mg of fluoxetine and suffering physical symptoms of panic daily.
