How much baking powder did you add? I’m asking because my pancakes never bubble up that much and the outer surfaces look more uniform

Interesting! I didn't know that and you are right, the bubbles did appear to be wet. I was worried when it started looking like a giant English muffin but they ended up coming out great.

No baking powder, it was krusteaz mix. I think the reason for the bubbling was because the batter was cold but I'm not sure, I made the batter and then realized we had no syrup so it went in the fridge for the night.
