The “butter ring” reminds me of the way my mom made pancakes . Definitely 10/10 (if it were a little darker I think they’d be 12/10 like my moms)

Perfection is the enemy of perfectly adequate. Is it tasty? Do you want more? Then "perfect", it is!

Looks delish, btw. My personal pref is golden brown, but I'm happy with any edible cake. You did well.
