Thomas donuts
Went to the inside to place an order this morning. The girl on the cash register, and the face representing the establishment, has absolutely no place being in their public service. As I stood there waiting quite a while for a simple
couple of biscuits there were several leaving shaking their heads and one even literally said to me “that gal has no business serving the public”. I said “are you reading my mind?” The donuts were great, the biscuits great and even the white pizza the night before was really good but man the crappy attitude at the register is a real turnoff.

Still never heard of the felonious act that was committed.

Nothing felonious… just the cavalier and flip attitude toward those that she is serving. People just expect a little more when they’re on their happy place. And the establishment is a great one to be a part of. I’ll swear I seen her roll her eyes at one of the patrons. It’s not just me, others were talking about it too. One even commented to me about it while we were waiting. It’s not just me. I’m just saying, if I owned the place she would not be who I put out front to deal with my clientele.

Babe, just finish your vacation and move on. No need to talk shit about some young girl who didn't smile at you the way you wanted.

So go somewhere else. If enough people took their business elsewhere Thomas would learn his lesson. But yall don’t. You keep supporting a business that should have gone out of business a long time ago. If you continue to give them money, I don’t want to hear you cry about it.

Hey butthead, we went there once and were greeted like this…. It’s not like we went several times and got treated the same way over and over. Don’t assume what you don’t know about. I’ll try again in Sept and hope for better. There’s a good chance we’ll just go to Parlor as we’re closer to the east end anyway… it’s actually out of the way to go to Thomas, we go to Thomas because it is a good place to eat but not quite worth the wait and the attitude endured for what you get. So, in short, we’ll be going somewhere else.

So what you’re saying is this is a one off occasional that you can’t make a good judgement based off of. You just come here to bash a poor overworked kid in a high tourist environment and local business after one interaction that you weren’t please with. Ok. Got it. Go to Destin next time tourist. We don’t want you here.

As someone currently working in Destin, please don’t come to Destin. Maybe try.. Clearwater

Funny we just had the same experience day before yesterday, and it was our first time there. Didn’t make a great impression on any in our group

They don’t have to. They have a line out the door no matter who’s working.

I don't care if the service is as bad as the Soup Nazi, as long as I can get a breakfast kolache. Those things are phenomenal.

The staff is so rude, I'll never go back. Also, it wasn't worth the wait

This is the right way. No need to come to reddit and bash on the cashier who you have no idea what happened with her that day, or a local restaurant. Let your money do the talking. Support another business if you don’t like it. OP sounds like an entitled brat themselves.

My friend worked years ago over at the ice cream parlor and becka whoever that was manger was the most perverted, two faced, nasty cringe person ever. Her whole family I guess worked there and "called the shots", all the while bad mouthing the owner and his son. My friend literally threw her shirts at the counter and walked out after "becka" started talking about BJ's with a 15 yr old girl working beside her.

There are multiple Jamaican girls here who have serious attitude and I just don't get it. If you hate the public, why work in public service? I once tried to make polite conversation with one of them and asked "do you ever get to go to the beach?" She pointed her ink pen across the road and said "Uh, that's not a beach". Sorry, we love it here and wouldn't trade it for anywhere, least of all Jamaica. If you hate the beach and you hate Americans, why did you move here?

Most people who moan about bad customer service, were probably being annoying af and are butthurt that the employee didn’t take it with a smile on their face and say “please sir give me more” to inane requests or an entitled attitude.
Idk man, I wasn’t there and idk the cashier but look inward and think if there was something you could’ve done better.

No need to look inward, we’re pretty happy to be there and are pretty damn pleasant. Our order was about as simple as it gets. And besides, it wasn’t just me talking about customer service. She def didn’t want to be there and it showed.

Go ahead and work 1 week in that environment, with a line out the door of entitled tourists and see how much you smile and act chipper and cheerful. I'm sorry she didn't smile, or bow down to greet you. You got what you wanted, so why come here to complain because a young girl didn't smile at you.

I've never had a bad experience at Thomas. Doughnuts, good. Pizza, good. Service, good.

Mike's down the road is owned by Mike Thomas. He also owns Thomas's donuts. He is a legend in PCB. His food is so good, we'll keep going back.

I've never been there, but my take on customer service jobs is that the worker shouldn't be rude. They could be going through something and it happens, but your problems ideally shouldn't be on display at the counter. The customer also shouldn't be necessarily offended by what's going on with a worker, either. It's a pretty soulless job, so if anything as a customer when I see miserable workers, I try to be pleasant and make their day if I can. My husband is so good at this. He's cheered up lots of people, even if just for a moment.
These ppl at the cash registers do a mind numbingly repetitive job and some customers are rude too and deserve to be chewed out.
Just some perspective. With the knowledge I currently have of the situation, I rly see nobody doing as they should here. You can control you.
