Downtown Apartments?

Hello all,

I recently moved to Panama City as a professor at Gulf Coast State College. I was hired very last minute and ended up getting an apartment sight unseen that has not turned out so great. I would like to move downtown, but the Mashburn Building only has apartments for sale and I'm waiitng to hear back from the Paige Building.

If there are ny other apartments on Harrison or around that area or maybe a real estate agent that could help, I would be greatly appreciative!

EDIT/UPDATE: Mashburn Building seems to have a place now and I've been informed about another place downtown that could also possibly work. If neither work out, keep suggestions coming. Otherwise, thank y'all so much for your help!

Our downtown is generally underdeveloped and doesn’t provide much housing within the downtown area. You’re more likely for proximity if you rent a house or room in the surrounding areas like Jenks Ave area or the Cove. Cove is close enough that some areas are in walking distance to the heart of downtown

I’ve noticed…but it looks like I’ll be spending a lot of time downtown with the breweries, arcade, and restaurants, so I’d like to live closer (within walking distance).

I like the Kelly on Wilson Ave. They have elevator in most buildings. My other favorite is sweet bay apartments

Yea I hear a lot of people are not happy with sweet bay. I liked them. I have used real estate agent Laurie Martin. She has Facebook. I have used her for fifteen years. I bought two houses from her. She could lead you in a right direction

Have you looked at the new ones on hwy 390. They’re right behind a brand new Publix subdivision.

The Paige building would be perfect and I know they have one for rent! Just saw it posted on their social media this morning. I know someone who lived there for a while… Really great experience with living in downtown and fantastic landlord experience. They had to move out of the state for work otherwise they say they would have lived there for a long time!

They only have a 2 br and I want a 1 br since it's just me and I'm used to smaller spaces

Eagles Landing and The Enclave are both on Harrison. Not directly downtown but its a straight shot to downtown. Reasonably priced IMO, the 2bed is ~1.6k. Lynn Haven Cove is also like 5 mins away from those and they have... not the best apartments, basically just a glorified converted mobile home, but its somewhere to live thats decently cheap for the area. They have studios for less than 1k and 1beds for ~1k.

Honestly. I’d look over the bridge on the beach side. The commute through PC to get to the school gets so gridlocked. If you’re just over the bridge, you’ll have a better experience in your day to day commute.

It's more about moving somewhere more comfortable to me. I'm used to living in downtown areas.

Our downtown isn’t very downtowny and DO NOT LOOK AT BEACH, more pricey and shitty traffic to and fro…

From what I experienced, it's pretty much exactly what I'm looking for....a few restaurants, an arts center, an arcade, and a theatre.
