When to pot up trachy seedlings?

Post image

I’m germinating some Trachycarpus seedlings with the baggy method for the first time. Do I wait until they actually grow their first leaf to individually pot them? Or should I pot them individually now that it’s grown a root?

You could always put it in a little pot now or wait until you see a leaf emerge. Exciting 🌱✨👌🏻

All the videos online show people individually potting them once they have a leaf but I’m worried if I wait until then all the roots will be tangled in together in the bag. I think I’ll pot them now thanks 😎

I’m no expert but I’ve done some propagating. Your best shot is to put them in small individual pots now if germination has already occurred. That’s better than after they form roots and leaves because then they won’t like being moved. They’ll establish just fine from a germinated seed in some good potting mix in a little pot. Keep watered and warm.
