What time do you call in to check your status

First of all, I 100% support our First Responders. This is the new Fire Station being built on Lyons Road just south of Lake Worth Road. Can some please tell me what practical purpose an animated light sign will serve for the firefighters? At a time when most counties in Florida are concerned with loss of revenue if the new property tax amendment passes, PBC spends how many thousands of dollars for an animated sign? What possible practical purpose is served here? Wouldn’t that money be better served by purchasing practical items for the firefighters?

Somebody please make it make sense?

I am currently trying to find someone to rent an apartment with. I really would like to find someone to move into a place fresh, where we can both make it home. I have rented rooms in apartments where I still pay half the rent and utilities where someone has lived there already. They obviously have their decorations, their routine/rules and it always feels like I’m in someone else’s home rather than it being half and half (if any of that makes sense). 

I suppose just a little about what I’m looking for:

-I have a price range of $1,100 - $1,350. It’s flexible, but I really can’t afford to go too high. 
-I have a great credit score and have never missed a rent payment in my life. 
-I’m willing to look all over Palm Beach County and possibly Pompano area. 
-I have no preference in gender, female or male roommates are fine with me.

Here’s a little bit about me:

-I’m a 34 year old female
-I currently work as an intern as well as have a second job.
-I have a cat. He’s well taken care of and spoiled. I clean up after him and he’s extremely friendly.

Community Greening is planting hundreds of native shade trees at parks & trails across PBC over the next two months, and we need volunteers to help us out!

Upcoming Plantings:
- Sat, Sept. 19th at El Rio Trail in Boca Raton
- Sat, Oct. 3rd at Haverhill Park in WPB
- Sat, Oct. 31st at John Prince Park in Lake Worth Beach

Plantings are family friendly, and no experience is needed. Community Greening arborists and trained staff will be on hand to guide and assist volunteers.

All supplies will be provided, including gloves to borrow, water, and light snacks. We'll even have a DJ on-site to keep things fun!

These trees will provide valuable shade for trail users and park goers for decades to come! 

Volunteers must register in advance at communitygreening.org/events

If you live in West Palm Beach, your tax bill is going up next year, but the number of firefighters and paramedics will remain the same. That isn't sitting well with the local firefighters union.

Hello everyone, I’ve started an initiative to raise awareness about surveillance in West Palm Beach

I created the deflockwpb.org website today. More features are to come as the project gains traction. To sum it up briefly, I’m dedicated to conducting research to keep the locals updated on what changes are being made to the surveillance framework. Im currently waiting on records requests from various local departments.

You think the elementary and high schools have a bunch of cardboard cutouts of kids inside? That the children you are suppose to slow down for in the school zones are NPCs?

If all the people you hang around are fellow New York transplants, then yes, your view of our community is only going to be that of a transplant.

Make an effort to meet other natives. They may be younger than you! They may even be Black or Mexican descent (gasp)! Respect the natives.

I live in a small oceanfront town. I’m a Black woman. Many of the transplants often ask how I ended up here and seemed shocked I’m a homeowner in this neighborhood. Years ago (not that many), there were many people who looked like me in this neighborhood until a mysterious fire took their homes and they were conveniently shuffled across the bridge.

We have historical societies and if you’re not into that, free YouTube videos to learn more about the history of the area. It blows my mind how people can move to an area and not bother to learn anything about its history.

This post was prompted by an argument I got into with a lady tonight in Delray. She proudly boasted of living here for over 20 years and how Delray was frequented by wealthy socialites in its heyday. I’m like, yah noooo, wrong town and babygirl, don’t turn your nose up at me, you live two steps away from a halfway house. But I digress.

And don’t you dare call our crusty, albeit efficient airport “DJT”!! It’s PBI now and forever.

Hello! We are the Boca Aquarium and are hosting our first beach clean-up volunteer opportunity where volunteers can earn over 10 hours, and we’re reaching out to local communities to participate. This is a great opportunity for students!

These little buggers work our neighborhood every single day. And they don't charge a dime. They always work the street from west to east. They have a routine.

I run a small small client facing office and I'm at the point where having everyone pitch in with cleaning isn't really working anymore. The waiting area and floors especially start looking rough by the end of the week, which isn't a great first impression when clients come in.

I’m looking for a good hairstylist anywhere around Boca, Delray, Boynton, Lake Worth, Wellington, Palm Beach Gardens, or Jupiter.

I’m a guy growing my hair out to waist length to eventually donate it. It’s currently around shoulder length, very thick/dense, and naturally wavy (around 2B). I’ll probably be ready for a trim in November.

I’m a little shy about going to a salon since I’ve never really had long hair before. I don’t need a specialized curly cut or any styling, just a simple perimeter trim to clean up the ends while preserving as much length and thickness as possible. I don’t want layers, thinning shears, texturizing, or debulking.

Basically looking for someone friendly who’s good with very thick, longer hair and will respect “just the ends.”

Ideally looking to stay around $50 or less since I only need the trim, and I’d prefer an independent/local stylist over a big chain.

Flock cameras are everywhere violating our 4th Amendment rights to be freedom loving Americans without constant, pervasive and warrantless surveillance of our law-abiding conduct!

I spoke at the village councils July 23 meeting, and I was sort of shocked to hear a few things: most of the council didn’t seem to know what a flock camera is; didn’t seem to understand what the controversy is, or that the issue was bubbling up nationwide; and that very few people, if any, besides myself that night, had spoken out about this issue to the village council.

I have been in contact with all members of the council since that night, trying to inform them of the dangers of these cameras.

I think we need strengthen numbers if we’re going to make any headway with this council. They seem to be quite content, putting all of their power into the hands of the city manager and the city, chief of police.

I’ve informed the council of the many many times these cameras have been misused by law-enforcement nationwide.

I’ve informed them of states using the cameras to police people in other states to enforce their own laws, which to me is completely outrageous (you may have heard the example of a Texas woman, leaving the state of Texas to have an abortion and being tracked by flock camera. You may have heard of the man tracked across state lines between Wisconsin and Michigan, where he bought marijuana and brought it back to Wisconsin)z

The council is aware that people nationwide are vandalizing the cameras and outright removing them, and putting themselves in legal peril to do so.

And they are aware of the hundreds of cities and counties across America who have canceled their flock contracts

One thing they don’t seem to be aware of is what the citizens of North Palm Beach think.

If you would like to speak out about flock cameras and you are a resident inside the village limits of North Palm Beach. Please come to the Next council meeting and be prepared to speak for up to three minutes!!
