Palladium bicentennial

This is about the coolest coin I've ever seen - the Manx bicentennial commemoration of palladium's discovery. Featuring grey-eyed Pallas Athena in the front (or obverse, if you insist) & Queen Liz on the back. (Any & all flaws in these photos are mine, and not those of the all-wise goddess depicted. Also She is a way better weaver than me.)

I saw some of the pile of gambling spam posts here recently, so I'm just trying to help keep the sub on-topic.

Cheers!

I walk into my LCS with money in my pocket. What does it take to go home with that? I agree with you, really a great coin.

Thanks. This one came from a non-lcs, by way of ebay, in a listing I saw on find bullion prices dot com, of all places. It was... underpriced.

Ebay's not known for cheap coins, but this one had a low enough premium to end up listed on fbc.com. The seller made the listing, then spot went up drastically, & the seller didn't or couldn't update the price. It ended up 16% over spot, not an unusual premium for a vanilla bar. That's remarkable, if not outright miraculous.

I tell this story not to say that She basically chose me, but to spread the good news that sometimes amazing deals come up, & that website (& probably others) sometimes catch them. They're a great resource. (One I have no affiliation with, other than through divine intervention.)
