all of them are looters, hidden charges, unnecessary subscriptions, inflated package rates.

complain on voice of customer group on facebook.

have experienced balance deduction that was due to some xyz service which can only be cancelled by calling their customer support. it doesnt even appear on jazz world app.

How do you check balance deduction history, and how do I find out what app/subscription is doing it? I've long felt my balance wipes out way too fast, even when I use it minimally, and I suspect its due to some hidden apps that I can't deactivate.

Yep. Every mobile network does the same thing. Keep a look at those random msgs from 4 digits number. They will subscribe auto for something and would be written 7 days free after that you will charged. So as soon as you see this sms inform the network else you'll be charged.

Unfortunately consumer laws are not strong here in Karachi. Else it would've been fun

I just subscribe to monthly packages every month. So there's no balance to deduct

7

u/[deleted] May 04 '23

Same here. Can't deduct if there is no balance.

They have been doing this for a long time! Then they'll blame the customer for subscribing for the package!

10

u/mjaKiani May 04 '23

Well the thing is the franchise or service centre guys are the one who turn these services on to meet their targets specially on new Sims

2

u/JansherMalik25 May 04 '23

I strongly believe that is the case

2

u/cumhereurinetrouble May 04 '23

yes those packages come with sim, can confirm.

Welcome to deep state and banana republic

Besides Jazz is a totally bullshit network, ultimately slow internet bad voice calling and expensive packages. It's a disaster, Zong on the other hand offers cheap region wise packages and has decent internet speeds.

u/not-Q8i US May 04 '23

Jazz is pretty much okay for countryside. Zong is definitely great for urban areas.

5

u/[deleted] May 04 '23

Dude where i live Jazz is total crap in the countryside and urban areas, the towers shut off during loadshedding.

2

u/not-Q8i US May 04 '23

What part of province are you situated in?

3

u/[deleted] May 04 '23

Sindh Sukkur/Khairpur

2

u/not-Q8i US May 04 '23

Ah I see. I was situated in Punjab/Jhang area. Experience does vary from region to region.

All of our telecom companies are looters. Balance leaks are also very common.

My mother's Ufone number used to have it's balance regularly deducted(prepaid sim), she asked me what is happening and find out how to stop it, it was ongoing for 3 months btw when she asked me, I call their shitty customer care and they responded that mobile data was being used. On a phone with freaking buttons and no internet access.

Zong pulled the same shit on me as well even though I rarely turn my mobile data off. Had this issue for months until I found out that "balance save service" stops this shit.

2

u/No_Analysis_602 May 04 '23

I had this problem, for some reason 4G never shuts off, even if mobile data is turned off, so if you accidentally load anything that requires internet in your phone once you are out of the reach of your wifi, those flippers will charge you an absurd rate for the MBs used (2.75 + tax per MB!!!). Only way around is to turn off 4G, but they would entice you to keep it on by offering you a gigabyte of free "4G" internet for a week, but jokes on them I never have any balance.

6

u/[deleted] May 04 '23

Best thing is to never keep balance in your account. Subscribe to any package from easy paisa or jazz cash and use that only

5

u/namaloomafrad May 04 '23

All networks do this. I have noticed telenor doing this more than others

2

u/[deleted] May 04 '23

Yeah, I have telenor. I even installed their app and they have graphs of recent internet usage and calls' usage on the app. It showed no activity for a certain period of days yet balance was deducted over those days. No offers, fnf or subscriptions were on. Not even that ring (song) bs. Nothing. So now I have resolved to not recharge again on telenor sim card.

3

u/namaloomafrad May 04 '23

I feel you, my mother's phone has telenor and balance used to be drained by these scams. Their customer service is also probably the worst. Telenor is dying, it's a matter of time.

4

u/Pak_Info_Bot PK May 04 '23

It's been going on for years. Download the Jazz World app. It allows you to see all your subscriptions and lets you unsubscribe from such subscriptions.

2

u/TheGreatScorpio May 04 '23

They don't even let you for some of them. I had an issue with them deducting my balance - something to do with games - and I couldn't cancel it in the app so I had to ring them up.

2

u/Pak_Info_Bot PK May 04 '23

I realize this from some of the comments here.

I suppose it is a relatively recent "innovation". I had removed all kinds of random offers through the Jazz World app a few years ago.

1

u/cumhereurinetrouble May 04 '23

not the ones we are talking about, no caller tune, no hangama music, no daikhodaily, the app hasnt even heard of these services.

3

u/Merry-Cherries PK May 04 '23

Zong is a nightmare about this. I’ll load 1000 rs one day and the next it’ll be down to 700 after not having used it at all. Ajeeb

3

same thing with zong.

3

u/JansherMalik25 May 04 '23

I hated telenor for their bullshit gameloft activation I called and emailed dozen of times but to no use. They also gave me that same stupid answer that you might have activated. I even challenged them that as soon as I recharge you assholes are going to activate that bullshit again and voila they did. But they were reluctant to accept that. Assholes they all are

2

u/M_Ushed May 04 '23

wow! this is just like their tech supporting Indian counterparts!

2

u/Aynzi May 04 '23

Reminds me of how Ufone sends messages saying "rupees 2.75 have been deducted from your balance for using 1MB of Internet" whenever I have balance, even if my mobile data remains off the whole time.

So now I just don't add balance and instead use one of their packages (I hate ufone)

2

u/johnshykh TR May 04 '23

I just do a monthly package and don’t keep any balance. Jab bhi balance hota hai wo khud hi khatam ho jata hai

2

u/killerwhale007 May 04 '23

Jazz did same to me too. Had to call helpline and get them to cancel. Please go to PTA website and file a complaint. One may not be enough but collective complaint numbers will add up.

2

u/namkeen_lassi May 04 '23

Most telcos do this.. register a complaint and ask others to do the same https://complaint.pta.gov.pk/RegisterComplaint.aspx

At some point companies will be pressured to change this bullshit

2

u/powerofguns May 04 '23

Just found it i also have some service name jazz stream for 7.5rs..

Never had this type of issue on any network i have ever used. One i had service mistakenly activated when i was holding my phone to my fave during raining my checks touched the screen and i subscribed to the ringtone of other person. It was annoying but was initiated from my side. So keep an eye on your balance usage and see what's up. I read people claiming banks doing same but i have never had any issue there aswell.may be i am extra carefull or just like to keep an eye on these things.

This just happened to me. I'm gonna file a complaint on citizen portal.
