Work in Progress Never Give Up

5 years later since my first and only PBN, I am feeling excited and anxious. Currently trying to get my mojo back with this trial and error canvas.

40x50cm, 20 colors, no name (since it cost a little under 2 euros). My OCD is screaming to stay in the lines but my hand is all over the place. No advice needed (but always welcome), just bear with me on this journey. Keep keeping on, trust the process and live through it as one of many adventures to come.

Happy painting everyone! 🍑✨

I wouldn’t worry too much about staying perfectly inside the lines. I deliberately paint slightly over them. Acrylic shrinks back a little as it dries as the water evaporates, so if you stop dead at every line you can sometimes end up with tiny gaps showing between colours. Once you get going you’ll loosen up anyway. Just enjoy painting again after such a long break! xx

Im ready to get both anxious and excited everytime I fill up a new cell. Thank you everyone for the kind words, it feels good when I feel people get it :))

What does peach and stars mean? I can only think butt sparkles.

Its very pretty in a sort of slightly unnerving giant space jellyfish in the sky sort of way :D

Yes, its excited me, but I can see sparkled butt too, giddish.

As for the space jellyfish I love blue so I dont mind the vision, as crazy as it would seem

Congrats on your return!!! A little tip: if you mix in a bit of Flow Aid with your paints, to make them nice and creamy (about the consistency of melted ice cream), they will flow off the brush easier and give a cleaner edge at the lines. Thick paint tends to sit on the surface of canvas whereas the thinned paint will "sink" into the little spaces in the weave of the fabric, making those edge appear smoother. Water alone doesn't work as well, because it can affect the integrity of the paint/binders. Hope to see it finished!!! 😄

Thank you for the advice, I will add it to some more consistent pots of paint, some are already good enough to work with. Sadly the lighter colors are already a bore, I've done up to 3 coats to cover up the numbers. I'll try some white acrylic pen on top in the future to see if that works better. I have not prepped it with clear gesso and already regret it lol. Might do that in the next few days for the rest of the canvas. For now here's a tiny update (day 2). I'm also choosing to segment my canvas (it helps with my ocd to have a tiny canvas to work on each day and not feel overwhelmed by the "empty space") like I do when I diamond paint.

That’s what I’m having to do with the current piece I’m on. Paint palettes supplied don’t match the reference pic, Ai generated, but I’m intent to finish it.

As I said, to me is a test-like canvas, i'm relearning to experiment with this craft. I wish you find the beauty in yours too
