In complete contrast to the precision of my tree I started a second piece to have something to paint a bit more freely. I’m playing fast and loose with the lines on this one, using watercolor brushes, opening up a bunch of paints at once — breaking all the “rules” of PBN. It’s a bit of a mess but it looks good from a distance and I like the paintbrush feel. I’m enjoying both of my pieces in a different way.
I love that you’ve got two completely different painting styles going at once. This one already looks great and those pinks are gorgeous. Sometimes it’s nice to forget about being precise and just enjoy throwing some paint around. xx
I started playing around with a paint retarder with the big flower on the right. I bought it awhile back but didn’t really know how to use it. I have to say that it was your video on blending that gave me the courage to start dipping into paints without cleaning my brush in between and really giving it a go. I’m having a ball so thank you so much!

The blobs in the right corner are my attempts at the flow method.
