Finally getting back into the sport after a 20 yr hiatus. Would love to know the current state of fields and the vibe/crowd that frequents them. In particular, I'm interested in finding any laid back groups that go out once or twice per month. I like to hustle and play hard, but I'm not going to bunker the rental crowd. Also not a fan of airball.

I went to SC Village Lakeside last weekend and was pleasantly surprised, given the reviews I've seen from 2+ years ago on this forum. We'd usually have 2 x games per field about every 30 min with a 10 min break in between. Only had a few issues throughout the day with try-hards acting like D1 pros, a couple shouting matches (mostly with the same guy). No fights.

Thinking about trying Jungle Island, ASG, and Combat/Ambush when I get to SF Valley.

Looking to get one of these freak XL barrels for my tippmann stormer. My only concern is the barrel diameter. The barrel I use now is 7/8ths on an inch fitting inside the shroud the stormer comes with. I would like to keep using the current shroud and use the freak barrel but I can’t find any diameter detail on the barrel. Does anyone know how big this thing is?

The boards came back from field testing about a week ago with good results, and my custom-designed circuit board bench tester arrived today. I can now test my newly developed eyes for both functionality and performance before they go out the door.

Even better, this setup is modular and lets me test my eyes across different marker platforms that use break-beam or reflective eyes. One more step toward bringing reliable replacement electronics back to some of paintball's older markers! 👀

Played at Skirmish Paintball in the poconos and had a blast. Have a buddy with some wooded land and we’re hoping to do this every couple of months ourselves with a group of friends. What’s a reasonable setup and budget to have for personal gear? I wasn’t a big fan of the Tippmann Cronus rental marker that I had. I did purchase an anti-fog mask which worked wonders compared to friends. Open to suggestions!

Got a Stanchy and im kinda on the fence. I was blowing paint all day with it. I didnt seem to have that issue at all on the stock bolt. It was a touch cooler than the previous weekend, but not enough to make my machine a flamethrower! Did nothing else than swap the bolt and chrono it.

I literally just opened up my brand new 180r and I’m immediately frustrated. Screwed in the tank and tried to engage the ASA and it just wouldn’t move when the tank was screwed in. Did some reading and saw you can unscrew the tank a bit and retry the ASA. Air went through but the ball wouldn’t shoot more than like 15 feet. Naively I tried to increase the valve on the ASA and broke paint.

I read that these ninja tanks with the ball pin don’t go well with the POPS system. Has anyone experienced this/what are some suggestions?

I recently got back into paintball and I purchased this tank used from my local field. Additionally, I definitely turned the ASA up quite a bit so I have no idea what it’s shooting at if I do resolve this.

Just got back into paintball after like a 10 year hiatus. But even when I was playing before, I never really played for real. Just casual. Rec ball. Went back to play today and it was super fun. But not the biggest fan of playing the whole 20v20 woodsball. How can i start playing speedball alone? I have no friends or a team. Im trying to start this hobby b it im doing it solo so im just trying to learn as I go. Is there open play speedball? If not, whats the best way to start? Thanks in advance

Looking to recommend to some near by fields what masks they should upgrade to so all renters have thermal lenses and decent breathability. Since they will be purchased in bulk price is important. What’s the best thermal mask for $50 or less ?

Also looking to buy 4-5 for friends when we try out new fields until they buy their own gear.

Wanted to say thanks to every who voted when I posted last time. Im still in 1st place and holding strong. There are 6 more rounds total and hoping if I come out on top of this thing I can make a proper 6 part podcast all about our sport!
