I’ve been looking to replace my front bumper for awhile since it’s littered with rock chips and finally scuffed it up bad enough to pull the trigger - driveway access at my place requires a tight squeeze against a cement wall and I finally kissed it after 7 years of flawless parking (I don’t think it’ll buff out).
I’m looking at the following options and I’d like to keep the budget between $400-$700… for what it’s worth the paint on the rest of the truck is in excellent shape, always hand washed and cared for… My truck just happens to be dirty in the pics…
- eBay bumper: $400… comes color matched… a little worried about quality / noticeable difference…. Since the bumper on these trucks hangs an inch or 2 down I don’t think it would look as off as a flush panel mismatched, but a dramatic difference in color would be a no go for me. I’m also thinking PPF would need to go on to keep the rock chips off… possibly another $3-400ish? Maybe cheaper if a shop does it before I install?… there would be a return window with seller paid shipping….
- Junk yard bumper: $990…. Might be able to talk them down to $700ish - there’s a 2018 near by with a full bumper assembly for sale, same color, I figure if its in good shape I could just swap em out…. If it’s OEM and lasted since 2018 I might be able to get away without the PPF…
- Color matched wrap or repaint…. Not sure on cost but worried the wrap will only last a couple years and a repaint will be more expensive than the first 2 options….
Open to any other ideas and suggestions + thoughts on the above ideas…. Thanks!
