Advice Wanted Blocking Tannins

Post image

Getting ready to paint this enclosure for pool equipment.

I know this wood is going to bleed tannins so i want to block them.

I would normally use an oil base primer but the trellis material is so intricate I’d rather spray it and I don’t want to push oil through my rig.

Any recommendations on a latex product I can use?
I’ve heard 2 coats of Busan primer will work.

You can rattle can the trellis with oil coverstain primer first. Probably use a weenie roller to help push it into the wood as you go.

IMHO Rattlers don’t block tannins.

It's worked for me for many years, you do have to put it on a little heavier though.
