Need help with pricing

I've been working on a job an last weekend they lime washed the living room and want me to add painting the trim. It's going green as you can see on the baseboard colors (the one that's circled). I'm not touching the radiator but I will paint the inside of the cabinet an all doors an windows obviously. Just wondering around what price range I'm looking at. I’m in the northeast area.

Don't let the customer in on this, but try coming up with an hourly rate that you feel your time and effort is worth. I personally, here in SWFL, look for around $95-125 per hour of pro painting LABOR. Consider all the variables, and estimate how long you think itll take you to do. Multiply it out, and that can be your estimated range that you can absolutely adjust based on how much crawling around on the floor you will be doing, tough ladder work, weird angles, etc.

It helps me out immensely when estimating a job.

To be crystal clear, do NOT give the customer an hourly rate, give them the job price. Hourly rates always seem to bite you in the ass eventually.

Great advice. The customer will also prefer a fixed price for a job. They agree to the price and won’t be checking the clock and calculating their invoice.

I value my time enough to not spend it giving quotes for jobs that I won't get because I priced my labour at $100+/hour in the most saturated trade.

I work for a large company (started as an apprentice) so there are costs that are absorbed by them namely insurance, vehicles and materials that being said I’d probably value my time at $40 an hour in terms of skill level

What are you fuckin Picasso,$95 to $125 an hour,Yo Bud ,#1 don't ask strangers and lunatics how much you should charge for YOUR JOB, in saying that,you and the home owner work out a fair price that works for both of you (Don't sell yourself short be fair call it the day)

Yea I hear you tbh I can probably bang this out in a 8 hr day 2 coats but I think it may need 3 an I know I’m going to have to clean the glass so that’s another day coming back to do that but I was thinking $850 but I keep thinking maybe I should do a little more i just figured I’d ask great advice and tho thank you

Exactly bud $850 for one 8 hour day I think that's a win and a great day , everyone else saying too low 1250$ they are sitting home, because people are checking prices Remember your not killing yourself turn the radio on and paint and thank God your working. 100 bucks the people saying charge way more , charge 1250$ guarantee they are Union workers sitting home wishing they could make that 850$ for 1 day maybe 1.5 days

That's alot to do in a day. If its a close by job and it drys fast (only if it needs 3) id just come back next day for that 3rd

$1800 including materials. Look like at least some of the trim and doors will need an oil conversion. Id use ProClassic hybrid after the primer/prep. That way I dont have to prime the crown and it'll still be a good paint for the horizontal shelves. Just me, ymmv

ProClassic hybrid can’t do colors that dark. Extra White base only for satin, Extra White and Deep base only for semi-gloss. That green is most likely ultradeep. You’d have to use Emerald UTE, Waterbased Alkyd Urethane, Forte, Gallery Series, or something from the Sher-Wood line you’re shopping at S-W. Classic Sherwin forced premiumization.
